One of my earliest assignments while working at the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit, was to develop an online learning solution that would help schools implement a cyber program of their own. The purpose of eAcademy™ is to provide local school districts with the ability to build the capacity to fully integrate online learning into their schools. eAcademy™ is not a “cyber school." Rather, it is an online learning initiative that involves a comprehensive shift in the way we envision our public schools. The initiative has trained hundreds of educators in online course development and design and has had a continual focus on building strong online teaching skills.
